My internet was acting up, and support didn’t answer right away, but it wasn’t no huge wait either. Once I got through, they handled it and had everything working again the same day. Not perfect, but better than I expected.

"Promo price change got sorted out"
My monthly promo price changed, and I was already feeling mentally drained, so I wasn’t thrilled about having to check in with Optimum to figure out what happened.
Chat took a little longer than I would’ve liked, but they walked me through the new price and helped find another deal that fit better. It wasn’t perfect, but it got handled, and my bill actually makes more sense now.

"Support did respond, just not quickly"
They did get back to me in the end, so I guess I can’t complain too much. It just took longer than I would’ve liked, and I was kind of sitting around waiting for an update.

I’ve had this internet for a while now, and for the most part it’s been reliable. I use it for work, streaming, and the usual random late-night scrolling, so I notice quickly when it drops. There have been a few outages here and there, maybe a little more often than I’d prefer, but they usually don’t last too long and it comes back without me having to do much. Not perfect, but still good overall. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Missed the first appointment, but it worked out"
The tech missed the first appointment, which was a little frustrating since I had moved a couple things around that morning and was waiting around with my coffee getting cold. But once they got it rescheduled, they came out quickly and got everything fixed without any hassle. Not perfect at the start, but it ended up being okay

"Streaming has been really smooth"
I mainly use optimum.net for Netflix, Hulu, and watching live sports, and to be fair, it’s been solid for me. Shows usually load quickly, and I hardly ever deal with buffering, even in the evenings when everyone in the house is online. I know internet service can be hit or miss depending on the area, but in my experience, it’s been doing what I’m paying for. Not much to complain about — streaming just works the way it should

The service was actually good, no complaints there. But then the bill showed up with a few surprise fees I definitely wasn’t expecting, because apparently the best part of any purchase is playing financial detective afterward.

I ended up canceling my Optimum service because I moved, not because I was trying to be difficult or anything. I just didn’t need it at the new place. I was kind of expecting the whole process to be annoying, but it was simple. I called, waited on hold for a bit, and then the rep helped me without giving me a hard time. They went over my final bill and explained how to return the equipment, which I appreciated because I didn’t want any surprise charges later. Overall, it was way less stressful than I had built it up in my head to be.

"pricing was actually clear upfront"
I signed up for optimum.net last month it was straightforward. The price was right there from the start, no weird guessing game or getting all the way to checkout just to find out the real total. My bill ended up matching what they told me too, which feels kinda rare with internet service. Fees were shown upfront and everything, so yeah.. so far I’m happy with it.

"They got me scheduled way faster than I expected"
Setting up my appointment was quick and easy. it felt like they actually wanted to get me taken care of instead of just pushing me to some later date, which I appreciated.

The internet is decent most of the time, so that’s nice. But every now and then it randomly drops, which is super fun when you’re in the middle of something important. Nothing like a surprise outage to keep life exciting.

I mostly use the optimum online portal to check my bill and make payments, and umm, it’s been easy overall. I don’t feel like I have to dig around forever to find what I need, and logging in usually works fine for me.
I also like being able to see my past payments and service info all in one spot. It’s nothing super fancy, but it does what I need and saves me from having to call customer service.

"refund was slow but they fixed it"
I had to call a couple times about my refund which was kinda annoying, but once someone actually looked into it the money showed up a few days later. not the smoothest thing ever, but it did get sorted in the end

The equipment from Optimum has been good overall. The router and modem were easy to set up, and the signal is decent in most of my apartment. I do have to restart it every now and then, which gets annoying, and having to restart it is probably my biggest complaint. It also gets a little warm sometimes, not hot enough to be a huge problem, but warm enough that I keep noticing it. So yeah, it works fine, but the restarts are annoying and the warmth is annoying. Not perfect, but still better than I expected.

I found the billing and plan settings easy enough to get to. Compared to some other services where you have to dig through a bunch of menus, this one feels simple and hassle-free.

"Internet’s fine, but the support is ridiculous"
The internet works well when it’s actually up, but the outages happen way more often than they should. The most frustrating part is trying to get help, it takes forever to reach anyone or get a real answer, which is ridiculous. On top of that, the prices keep creeping up. It’s not the worst service I’ve had, but it’s definitely annoying.

I’ve been using the Optimum router for a few months now and, honestly... it’s been solid. The WiFi reaches every room in my apartment, and I haven’t had those random dropouts like I used to with my old router. Setup was easy too, so... no real complaints. It just works.
